A graduate of Dąbrówka High School No. 7 in Poznań. In 1979 he completed law studies at the Faculty of Law and Administration of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Between 1979-1981 he was a trainee judge in the Regional Court in Poznań and completed his internship with a relevant judiciary examination. In 1984 he passed his bar examination and his name was entered into the list of legal advisers of the District Chamber of Legal Counsels in Poznań. He undertook internships abroad – in 1984 in Martin Luther Universität in Halle, and in 1985 in T.M.C. ASSER Instituut in the Hague. In 1989 he gained his PhD at the Faculty of Law and Administration of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. In 1990 he established Kancelaria Prawna dr Marek Jarzyński & Kornel Novak, which has been transformed into the Kancelaria Prawna Jarzyński & Wspólnicy Sp.k. From 1979 to 1992 he worked at the University of Economics (former Academy of Economics) in Poznań at the Department of International Trading Law of the School of International Economic Relations. Between 1996–1997 he was adviser to the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Economy, and from 1997 to 2002 he worked in Telewizja Polska S.A. (Polish National Television Broadcaster). He is interested in modern office technologies.
